Grand Rapids, MI., January 7, 2019. The beginning of August saw the opening of the newest VA hospital in Aurora, CO. The Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center, part of the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System, is a modern, high-tech facility with an unprecedented focus on providing value based care to all their Veterans. A large part of that focus is on improving the patient experience (PX) for outpatient, inpatient and long-term residents.
The hospital chose to partner with eVideon to provide an interactive patient system to ensure that the Veteran experience was engaging from day one. A major priority for opening day was to have the eVideon PX Platform up and running - to provide education, entertainment and other engagement services.
Ready Day One
This goal was met and the eVideon PX Platform welcomed patients with a personalized experience directly on their bedside televisions. The eVideon system provides entertainment, and engages patients in their own care plan by allowing the clinical staff to “prescribe” educational videos specific to a patient’s diagnosis.
Getting the Message Out
The VA also installed eVideon’s Digital Signage Solution on a number of its public facing TVs, throughout the hospital, to provide helpful and consistent messaging across the campus. These digital signs relay information on services and events, and in one case, created enough sound to solve a privacy issue at one check-in station of the Emergency Department.
