Environmentally Conscious Collaboration Combines eVideon’s Patient Engagement Technologies with E Ink’s ePaper Capabilities to Improve Patient Experience

Grand Rapids, Mich., June 23,2020 – eVideon, a leader in interactive patient engagement and digital workflow solutions, today announced a strategic alliance with E Ink Holdings,"E Ink", the leading innovator of electronic ink technology. The partnership combines the market-leading capabilities of both companies to provide hospitals with energy-efficient Whiteboards and Digital Patient Door Displays using Digital Paper by E Ink that can be powered by batteries or power over Ethernet (PoE), and eliminate the emission of unwanted blue light. This offering will be particularly beneficial for patients who prefer sleeping in a dark environment, ultimately providing them a more pleasant hospital stay.

“Many patients struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep in a hospital room due to the many competing distractions, and one of the biggest disturbances is light,” said Jeff Fallon, CEO, eVideon. “We are excited about our partnership with E Ink to offer customizable low power Whiteboards that do not emit unwanted light which can help make the patient’s stay as comfortable as possible.”

eVideon’s Digital Whiteboard technology helps patients and staff navigate the hospital and stay informed, and can be fully customized based on the needs of the organization to include content like educational videos, important updates, patient services and more. Digital Patient Door Displays are mounted outside the patient’s door and are integrated with the hospital EHR and the eVideon system to display real-time patient alerts and precautions. E Ink’s technology – most recognizable from eReaders – is energy efficient, will not permeate patient rooms with additional lighting, and is lightweight and shatterproof. The combination of eVideon’s digital technology with E Ink’s display capabilities will allow organizations to offer patient and clinician-friendly,interactive displays throughout the hospital.

“We believe hospitals will see substantial and measurable benefits implementing digital tools that improve the care experience for patients and clinicians,” said Paul Apen,Chief Business and Operations Officer, E Ink. “Together, E Ink and eVideon will bring digital signage into the 21st century with solutions that support patients and healthcare providers, and can be easily integrated into existing or brand new healthcare facilities.”
