Today we continue our Q&A series with eVideon Software Developer Joe Aukeman. It never ceases to amaze us what we learn about our own team when we take the time to ask the right questions. Turns out, Joe has a lot of interesting hobbies. Enjoy getting to know Joe!

1. What’s your role at eVideon, and what do you do on a day-to-day basis?

I'm a Software Developer. I write code to hopefully accommodate the needs of our product today while also preparing for the unknowns of tomorrow.

2. What is meaningful to you about your job?

I have always loved coming up with ways to solve problems. I come from a family of home builders who have made a name creating solutions for folks to live in. I feel like I get a similar satisfaction from solving problems in programming, I just use code instead of wood.

3. Where can you be found when you’re not in the office?

I have a ton of hobbies... I love unicycling, riding my OneWheel, keeping fish tanks, working on my home, jet skiing up at the family cottage… I also enjoy traveling and camping in my van.

4. What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Probably my buying my home. I love my house and take pride in working on it and maintaining the yard/landscape etc.

5. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? How has that changed or stayed the same?

Veterinarian. I still love animals and kinda wish I did it, but mostly I’m happy with programming.

6. Who would play you in a movie about your life?

Maybe John Krasinski? But like, before he got all buff.

7. Poetry fun! Write a haiku about healthcare and/or technology.
